What are protein interactions?
Protein interaction maps show how different proteins work with each other in a biological system. These maps can be used to gain insight on what pathways various proteins work in, such as signaling pathways, metabolic pathways, or protein complexes. These can be useful in identifying drug targets [1].
Discussion
Using STRING to analyze protein-protein interactions of SCN1A in both humans and mice reveal similar interactions in both species. There is a few differences between the two, but the mice protein interactions match the humans ones closest of any model organism.
